iSpindle and Fermentrack

Emails have been sent to everyone. Thank you for taking care of the payment promptly so I can pack up the kits for each drop points. No kits left behind!

Thank you very much for volunteering to solder them. It’s really much appreciated. I’ve never done it before and too nervous to try on this project.

Thanks to everyone that has already sent me your payment. Much appreciated. I bagged all the orders, they’re ready for pickup. I still need to sort out some assembly support.

@chhamilton, would you be willing to take on Yacine’s 2 kits?
@JamesKirk, can you assemble Ian’s kit?
@Norm, can you assemble Philippe Samson’s kit?

Please respond as soon as you can. I’ll be sending a few kits to the Plateau with Vincent this afternoon. The rest will follow in the next few days, subject to your responses.

Thanks!

K

Yeah, I’d love to help Ian out and assemble his. I’m planning to come down tonight to pick up at least my kits and Ian’s I suppose. Thanks!

Merci beaucoup Normand! J’ai envoyé tellement de messages que je commence à perdre le fil.

Vincent passe aujourd’hui pour récupérer la majorité des commandes pour le plateau. @JamesKirk, I’ll include yours and @IanCB’s in that batch:

Normand Cyr, Yacine et Philippe Samson
James & Ian
Vincent P
Manuel D
Éric P
Chris Hamilton

Sam & Dan, I’ll bring yours directly when I drop off some bottles thursday or friday.

Thanks!

Thank you very much James!

PM me to let me know what I can give you as a compensation!

Hey Kurt and everyone, we might have an issue… I wish I had paid closer attention when you asked for part review because the TP4056 (battery handling module) we got might not work for our purpose… it lacks the discharge protection and handling (Out+ and Out- pins)…

They are also technically not USB C but USB B (micro) but that does not really matter.

Are we collectively getting the right parts or we solve it on our own ?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :frowning:

Vincent

Hi all. The ones that I used for mine can be found here:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32986135934.html?spm=2114.13010708.0.0.3a994c4dBOyopi

Shit. Thanks for noticing this. If everyone holds off on picking up their kits, I can order the correct part and we’ll sort out the cost difference after.

Using Mark’s suggested link, it’s a difference of 47 cents per kit, a total of $19. It’s my error, I’ll absorb it. I’ll order the parts today, we’ll have them by the end of March.

Sorry about this everyone. I’ll send an email too to make sure that everyone is in the loop.

K

Sur une note beaucoup plus positive, I got to test one of the batteries and it output 3285 mah before falling below 2.5v so that’s very good news

Also, if we are going to be waiting for an aliexpress delivery, we might consider something else… the switch we got do not have physical attachment and are “straight”; given enough time, I can see those connexion breaking. Going for something with physical reinforcement and that would already be bent 90 degrees (like https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32965774093.html) could be a nice thing to have, given we are talking about a few pennies.

Cheers !

J’ai aucun problème de payer quelques dollars de plus pour quelque chose de plus robuste. J’appuie la suggestion.

Sorry I never got back to you, I’ve been crazy busy with work and new home construction. I don’t have a lot of time to build anybody else’s kit right now, (let alone my own) but things might calm down next month if there’s still help needed.

Cheers,

Chris
