Yeah. I’ll send out an official email this weekend at some point. But it is scheduled for:
Saturday the 15th at 1:00 at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Westmount (5035 Maisonneuve Ouest)
I’m definitely starting to get into my own head a little and questioning myself too much. Especially with the beers I got from the MALT competition. Really highlights how nice it is to have another judge at the table with you. Even though you are still perceiving the beer differently and aren’t writing the same feedback or anything, the other person’s presence is definitely a mental safety net for me.

I agree with you. A partner makes a huge difference.
I also realized that I tend to score beers generously. Will have to adjust a little.

Hey Eric, I’m busy tasting Mexican lagers right now but if you find some beer that fit those categories that is easily available in the SAQ or IGA, maybe we can do a zoom meeting and discuss Wed or Thursday?
Ive tasted a few to practice so far, its just that my vocabulary is not as good and eloquent as with other styles lol, but i should be good!
En regardant les scores du Brew Slam, c’est vrai que comme juges novices, on a p/e tendance à être trop généreux dans notre scoring. Va falloir faire attention à ça la semaine prochaine (35 et + est vraiment pour des excellentes bières).

It’s understandable. I was dead asleep on a chair at 10pm yesterday. I usually sleep ar 2am. So very intense day 
Preparing (seriously) to an exam like this takes a lot of effort and dedication. We’ve had a lot of talk of a BJCP exam in the past, with participants and organizers (including me at one point) letting things go for different reasons (this is not to criticize them) and we never got close to the exam. My experience as a judge in the past years has been outstanding, which motivated me want to give a good boost to host and exam and have more BJCP judge in the area, hoping to get the ball rolling a bit more after that with BJCP things and involvement.
I’m proud of you guys. People’s involvement, seriousness and ethics is what makes the BJCP. I’ve seen some very good judging and I hope this will open some doors for you, in the craft beer world! Most (hopefully all) of you should get a BJCP rank where you could choose to stay at, or continue the journey to higher ranks. Let’s wait for the grades and take a break. We can talk about the future later! I’m waiting for 2 grades too
By the way, seems like I won’t be getting th÷ exam’s results myself, because they are confidential, but anyone who wants to share theirs with me (or us) when they are in, I’d appreciate very much!
