Hi,
We regret to advise you that because of the Tariff situation we have decided not to accept entries from Canada this year.
The reason for this is because it is not clear whether any entries from Canada would be subject to the Tariff and whether the entrant , or whoever is transporting the entries over the border, would be responsible for paying this or whether the Mashers would end up being liable for it. Because of this we have decided to forego accepting Canadian entries.
I would appreciate it if you can pass the word of this along to your membership because unfortunately the SW we use for entry registration does not allow us to block people from registering and paying for entries based on the country or province. So we want to preclude anyone from entering and paying to avoid problems and so we don’t incur fees associated with the payment or refunding thereof.
Lastly it’s possible that your members may still get emails soliciting entries. Please ask them to disregard this. We have had a changeover in leadership of the club and the competition which has resulted in us relying on old mailing lists. We have been working to remove any outdated addresses but may not have caught them all.
We apologize for having had to take this step and hope that in the future the situation will revert to a less confusing one and we can consider accepting entries from up north again.
