Commercial coffee stout recommendations

Hello Alers,

I have a friend who recently had a coffee stout somewhere, loved it, and has asked me for recommendations for other coffee stouts that he can buy locally. Unfortunately that’s not my go to style so I really don’t know what’s out there! I figured some of you could point me in the right direction.

Besides Péché, what do you guys got??

Cheers,
Mike

If he’s into stronger stuff, the SAQ sells “Café Del Bastardo” which I find really good.

Of course, Péché Mortel is a great example. Otherwise, I really like the Café Rico Breakfast Stout from Boswell and the Stout au Café from l’Hermite.

There is also Beauregard Brasserie Distillerie that specializes in “pastry” stouts et al. They tend to be on the sweet side, which is not my thing but some folks with a sweet tooth have enjoyed their products.

I haven’t seen it in a while so I’m unsure if they still make it but I quite enjoyed the espresso stout from Pit Caribou

Awesome, thanks for the recommendations!
